Conference on Methods and Applications in Fluorescence

The 14th Conference on Methods and Applications in Fluorescence (MAF-14) will be held in Würzburg, Germany, from 13-16 September, 2015. The conference will take place at the Congress Center Würzburg (CCW) in the center of the city surrounded by hotels in walking distance and many historic places of interest. Würzburg is situated on the Main River in the region of Franconia, Northern Bavaria. It is located approximately 120 kilometers from either Frankfurt or Nuremberg by road and easy accessible by direct ICE trains.

The biannual MAF Conference, the first in 1989, is intended to reflect the enormous progress that has been made in fluorescence which is one of the most powerful spectroscopic methods. Topics covered include new developments in (lifetime) spectroscopy, imaging (including super-resolution microscopy), new fluorescent probes, and live-cell fluorescence imaging applications, but also in nanomaterials (including beads and thin films), optoelectronic components, in data acquisition and processing.

MAF Conferences bring together speakers, contributors, attendants and exhibitors from areas including physics, chemistry, (bio)analytical sciences, biology, medicine, pharmacy (including high-throughput screening), materials sciences, and opto-electronics. Thus, MAF Conferences reflect - in a unique way - the multidisciplinarity of fluorescence, and at the same time promote scientific cross-talk in the word's best meaning.

The topics of MAF-14 include but are not limited to the following topics: ultrafast spectroscopy, upconversion, photonic crystals, plasmonics, nanophotonics, biophotonics, super-resolution microcopy, photoswitches, single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, energy transfer, electron transfer, live-cell imaging, new fluorescent probes for live-cell application and manipulation, as well as biological and medical applications.
